Brief: Designs for a rear dormer loft conversion to create one large bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, in Hoxton, North East London.
The Simply Architect team was excited to take on this loft project for our clients in North East London. The old loft of this property was unloved and unused, being a waste of valuable space in a London property. Our team were ready to help and provide our clients with loft conversion plans that would transform their home.
This loft conversion is absolutely stunning, with the rear dormer conversion adding lots of extra usable space to the loft. Our architects created an open-plan bedroom with in-built storage options so our clients could get the most out of their space. The wardrobe area fits nicely under the slope of the loft eaves, being nicely tucked away in the alcove created by the architect. The bathroom opens up into the bedroom, being both spacious but discreet with the door lying flush against the protruding wall with a sliding door.
The bedroom leads onto an office area, masterfully separated by our architects by using the protrusion from the bathroom area to segment the room into different parts. No matter what type of loft space you have, our architects can come up with creative solutions to create your perfect space. The office is tucked away in between storage fittings, removing it from the relaxed space of the bedroom. The skylight has been placed to allow plenty of natural light to fall onto the working space, allowing the bed to be dark and peaceful, but the office to be light and focused.

For this project, our architects worked with the Borough of Hackney Council to get the architectural drawings approved for construction. The plans for this build fell within permitted development restrictions so planning permission was not needed, but our architects obtained a Certificate of Lawful Development for ease of mind.
